How To enable ICMP/PING on a Windows Server:

  1. Open the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security by typing "wf.msc" in the Start menu search bar and pressing Enter.

  2. Click on "Inbound Rules" in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click on "New Rule" in the right-hand menu.

  4. Select "Custom" in the "Rule Type" section and click "Next".

  5. In the "Protocol and Ports" section, select "ICMPv4" or "ICMPv6" depending on the type of ping you want to allow, and click "Next".

  6. In the "Scope" section, select the option "Any IP address" to allow ping requests from any IP address, or specify the IP address range that you want to allow ping requests from.

  7. In the "Action" section, select "Allow the connection" and click "Next".

  8. In the "Profile" section, select the network profiles for which you want to allow ping requests, such as "Domain", "Private", or "Public", and click "Next".

  9. In the "Name" section, enter a name for the new rule, such as "Allow ICMP/Ping", and click "Finish".

Once you have completed these steps, ICMP/PING requests should be allowed on your Windows Server.

 

You can test this by using the "ping" command from another computer to ping the IP address of your server.

 

If the ping is successful, then ICMP/PING is now enabled on your Windows Server.
